I was raised in southern Ohio, USA, where it turns out there is a lot of poison ivy.  I hold a BA in German and a BFA in New Media from the University of Michigan, as well as an MA in Ethnomusicology from Indiana University.  I have lived in and worked in Germany (Berlin and Freiburg) and Ukraine (Rakhiv and Kolomyia) and am currently living in Bucharest, Romania, where I am conducting research for a doctoral dissertation in Ethnomusicology.

I have worked as a film/video editor, graphic designer, translator and teacher. I’m an avid ethnographer, photographer, craftsman, and musician, performing on the accordion, cimbalom/tsymbaly, banjo, brácsa, sopilka, and caval.
